I haven't found a solution yet so if you want to start Flash CS5 successfully, please downgrade Wine to 1. That is the last Wine version which runs Flash CS5 properly. About the cropped splash screen, it is normal because I saw it too. I'm not quite sure how CS5 Master Collection write to registry, but recently, I realize that, you don't even need to migrate the registry from Windows to Wine.
I just copy the folders listed in step 5 and I can start Flash CS5. That applies to single Flash installer, not sure about Master Collection Make sure you use a fresh wineprefix and install needed winetricks. I did that, and everything works now!

Flash loads and compiles the old CS3 project I used for testing. The popup with the running SWF shows up. Then stuff freezes.
I restarted Ubuntu. Here is my experience after restarting Ubuntu and Starting Flash. I have no clue if this is due to Wine 1.
Any experience from others here? The window presenting Flash is always on top. I can not get any other Ubuntu window to show up "over it". This means that when Flash "freezes" I can not do anything like kill the process.
In Wine 1. That's why Flash CS5 does not run well as you describe. You may also need to install other winetricks to supplement the missing features in an old Wine. You still have the chance to install Wine 1. Oh Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
